Present Perfect Tense
日本語は大まかな状況を説明しているだけで訳ではありません。
現在完了形は過去に何かが始まり現在もその影響が続いている状況で使われます。主に次の４つの場面があります。
1. Duration, continuation: Something started at one point in the past and still continues to the present. Implications are that it will continue into the future.
継続：過去の一時点で何かが始まり現在も続いていてこれからも続くだろう。
I’ve kept a diary since I was twelve years old.
12歳から私は日記を付けています。
I’ve studied piano since I was four years old.
私は4歳からピアノの練習をしています。
Mary has loved chocolate since she was a little girl.
メアリーは幼い頃からチョコレートが大好きです。
I have had a cold for two weeks.
私は2週間風邪をひいてます。
He has been busy since this morning.
彼は今日の朝からずーっと忙しい。
My parents have lived in Osaka for more than forty years.
私の両親は40年以上大阪に住んでいます。
2. Completion 1: Something started in the past, but now it’s finished. You are talking about something that happened in the past, but the connection to the present is very strong. The effect continues and is felt even now.
完了１：過去に何かが始まり現在は終了しているがその影響は今も強く感じられる。
He has recovered from his illness (healthy today).
彼は病気から回復している(今は元気)。
She has eaten lunch less than ten minutes ago (not hungry).
彼女は10分前にランチしたばかり(今は腹いっぱい)。
Spring has come (still Spring now).
春が来た（今でも春だ）。
He has made a fortune on the stock market (rich today).
彼は株で大儲けした(今でも大金持ち)。
I have quit my job (still don’t have a job).
私は仕事を辞めた(今も仕事してない)。
He has gone home (he is not here).
彼は家に帰った(今はここにいない)。
3. Completion 2: Something happened (completed) several times in the past. Chances are it will happen again.
完了２：過去に何回かおきていて、又起きる可能性が高い。
The enemy has bombed that island three times in a month.
敵はあの島をひと月に3回も爆撃してある。
My car has broken down twice this week.
私の車は今週2回も故障している。
He has complained several times, but no one listens.
彼は数回苦情を言ったが誰も聞いてくれない。
She has seen several specialists, but no one knows why she is sick.
彼女は数回専門医にみてもらったが誰も原因を知らない。
The typhoon has struck the island twice already.
台風は島にすでに2回上陸している。
My neighbor’s dog so far has attacked children three times.
私の隣の犬はこれまでに3回も子供をアタックしてある。
4. Experience: I was there or I was in the situation. How long ago is not important.
経験：私は過去にそこに居た、あるいは状況にあった。どのくらい前なのかは重要でない。
Have you met Mr. Robinson?
ロビンソン氏に会ったことありますか？
Have you been to Hawaii?
ハワイに行ったことありますか？
Have you ever flown in an airplane?
飛行機に乗ったことありますか？
She has never been in love.
彼女は恋愛したことがありません。
I think I’ve met you before somewhere.
私は貴方にどこかで会ったことがあると思います。
He has never traveled by train.
彼は電車で旅したことはありません。
